Abi is a teacher and enjoys a very active lifestyle. Since the tender age of 8 Abi has suffered from alopecia, marking her out as different from everybody else and her wonderful, bubbly personality is a testament to her coping abilities. For much of her life she tried to cope with hats and wigs, which limited so much of her personal aspirations in terms of styles, practicality and personal image. Her hair system has done nothing more and nothing less than give her normality, the simple ability to be active, fashionable and relaxed. Normal hair, normal life.
“I’ve suffered all my life. I’ve tried solutions that weren’t me. Now I’m normal, like any other girl. And I have beautiful hair”
Donna lost all her hair because of her ongoing chemotherapy treatments. By using a hair system she retains the look and style of her choice, which helps her to be exactly who she is: a strong, confident and able woman. The hair system gives her the comfort of socialising without having to fear judgement and discrimination. Now she can enjoy days out and holidays without having to think about anything but enjoying herself. Stylish to the maximum, Donna acknowledges that her hair is a crucial part of her personal journey and her image. It’s a small but powerful comfort during a medical programme that leaves her in discomfort and feeling low.
“It’s bad enough being ill, being prodded and poked. But to look at yourself and see an ill person really doesn’t help. Now I just see me and I think 'Yes I’m back!'”
Sara is a busy mother and a very outgoing, active person. After successful chemotherapy treatment she was left with extreme hair loss issues. Sadly it effectively destroyed a large amount of her hair, leaving her with a large section across the back of her head were here hair growth was patchy and the hair that was left was thin and damaged. She needed a solution that would allow her to engage in normal physical activities with her children, like swimming and going to adventure parks, and help her look great in her personal and professional life. Sarah now works with other people who are suffering the same medical challenges that she once faced.
“One of the first things I did with my hair? I took my children down a water slide. I can’t describe how that felt”
Sandra is a hardworking NHS nurse. Her hair loss issues began many years ago when, due to stress, she began to notice her hair was thinning and getting finer and her scalp was beginning to become visible through her hair. She struggled to feel happy both at work and at home as her hair loss issues affected her confidence. By using a Total Cover Plus hair integration system, Sandra got herself back. She now styles her hair exactly as she wants to. It was important for her to be able to control how others see her and with her hair integration system she once again has that power. For years she struggled, but now she no longer has to. She can be happy again, every day.
“People have seen my confidence return. My family and my work colleagues. Plus I look younger and I feel younger. What more could anyone ask for?”
